No trip to the seaside would be complete without the thrill of seaside pleasure rides.

Children demonstrate their prowess at persuading their parents, and other family members, to part with enough cash in order to buy ‘ride tokens’ so that they can ‘fly’ on a pink elephant, drive a beach buggy car, or an outsized spinning teacup.

This is often followed by tears when their pleas of “again” are either refused or ignored.

Their tears quickly dry when replaced by an ice cream - thereby doubling their pleasure!
