From Aubery, the north end of the Promenade, walk along by Noddsdale Water and then cross the main road (Greenock Road) into Barr Cresent. Follow the burn, past the houses and you will come to Glen Avenue turn left onto Brisbane Glen Road. Pass the cemetery and take the next left. Follow the farm road, you will pass Brisbane Mains Farm, pass through the farmyard and through a gate. Head up the rough path, this can be very boggy at times, look out for an Ayrshire Coastal Path marker post, turn to the left to Knock Hill path, the path heads south and circles around Knock Hill to the summit trig point where you will be able to enjoy spectacular views.

You can either descend the same way back to Brisbane Mains farm or you can find the minor path to the left at the Ayrshire Coastal Path marker post and head left down to a wall again this can be very boggy, once you reach the wall turn right and follow the wall to a gate, go through the gate and follow the fence on your right downhill through woodland area to Routenburn Road. You will see some signage, turn left and follow the road back to Greenock Road, Largs.
