This scenic spot, popular with ramblers/walkers, is located in a private estate. Access is on foot only. If you have a car, please park it in the public car park in Brisbane Glen Cemetery KA30 8SL.
- Turn right off Brisbane Glen Road at Noddsdale Lodge (shown in photo) onto the private driveway of Noddsdale House and walk the length of the high beech hedge.
- When the driveway turns right you will see a sign with an arrow pointing to the left.
- This takes you to a gate of a field where sheep are grazing.
- Go in and walk to the top of the field using the white marker posts to guide you to the exit gate.
- A small flight of steps and pathway take you to the rough farm track which goes up the hill to Noddsdale Estate's dam and lake which is called the Chinese Lake by Largonians.
- Nobody knows why?
Regular visitors will notice a marked difference to the land surrounding the lake. Recently all the Larch trees had to be felled due to disease. Replacement trees are to be planted soon.
The views surrounding the dam and lake are outstanding.
Please protect this valuable site. Keep dogs on a lead when going through the field and take your litter home with you. Thank you!
