In 2022 North Ayrshire Council held a series of consultative meetings called ‘Make Largs …’which asked businesses, community organisations and residents for ideas on how to develop the town in future.
I volunteered to write a contemporary guide describing what Largs has to offer residents and visitors today, and I spent nine months during COVID lockdown walking in and around Largs with my camera, talking to people gathering information and images which help illustrate why the town is a popular place to visit. Its beautiful seaside location helps make it one of the most desirable places to live in Scotland.
There is so much to shout about, lots of places to explore, plenty of history to absorb including our Viking connection, first class sports and recreation facilities in Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre, Largs Sailing Club, Largs Yacht Haven (largest marina in Scotland), The Pavilion Theatre provides entertainment for all ages, and everyone’s taste buds are also catered for in the town’s extensive food and drink outlets, many of which provide live music entertainment later in the evenings and at weekends.
The guide signposts many more things for you to consider.
